Fazenda Iluminada has, in addition to the trail to the Waterfall, two trails that can be accessed at certain times of the year, depending on their maintenance. They are these:
HILLS STRETCH
Walk with a slope and panoramic view of the farm. It starts at the headquarters and ends at the lake shore. Approximate duration from 02h30 to 03h00.
FOREST STRETCH
Walk through the forest, bordering the Vargem Grande stream. It starts at the source and ends at the lake shore. Approximate duration of 00h45.
In addition to the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park (23 mi from the farm, about 39 minutes), there are many tours, attractions and activities to enjoy in the region:
ALTO PARAISO / SAO JORGE CYCLE
Ideal ride for cycling enthusiasts. The ideal bike path next to the highway that connects Alto Paraiso to Sao Jorge has 22.4 mi with excellent asphalt and is well signposted. Along the way you can see and admire the stunning beauty of the region’s landscape. The farm has a bicycle rental service.
MAYTREA GARDEN
Located 12.9 mi from the GO-239 Highway, towards Sao Jorge. Like Morro da Baleia, Maytrea is one of the most photographed places in Chapada, as it reveals fields of flowers, paths and buritis framed by a horizon cut by beautiful mountains.
VALE DA LUA
It is a set of rock formations dug in the stones by the rapids of transparent waters of the Sao Miguel River. The valley is 6.8 mi from Sao Jorge, following the GO-239 Highway and entering through a dirt road opposite the National Park. A small fee is paid at the entrance to the valley, but guides are not required to accompany the visit. The name Moon Valley comes from its appearance reminiscent of the lunar landscape, its surface is marked by small craters excavated by the friction between the sand carried by the water and the rocks in the curves where the rapids are strongest, giving rise to small whirlpools and funnels.
CATARATA DOS COUROS
Also known as Sao Vicente Waterfall, it is located in Alto Paraiso de Goias, more precisely in the southwest of the urban area of the municipality, 31.7 mi from the city center. Access can be made via the GO-118 Highway – about 9.3 mi towards Alto Paraiso / Brasilia – and for another 21.1 mi on a dirt road – not always in good condition. The river jumps from the mountainous complex towards the Plateau of Alto Tocantins / Parnaiba, in a succession of falls of impressive beauty. It is the most spectacular set of waterfalls in the region and should soon be transformed into a Municipal Park.
MOINHO VILLAGE
The feeling of descending from Alto Paraiso and driving on a road in an uninhabitable world, where in the end you have the pleasant surprise of meeting the primitive and welcoming Povoado do Moinho. This town is 8.1 mi from the center of Alto Paraiso. It is advisable to use 4×4 vehicles for the access route to the village.
