FARM HISTORY
In 1953 the Veadeiros region was emancipated and separated from Cavalcante city, thus becoming its own city. Ten years later, Veadeiros received the name Alto Paraíso de Goiás due to the mobilization of councilors who voted for the change. Each councilor had the right to suggest two names for the city, the winner was councilor Dimas. His farm was called Paraíso (Paradise) which was at a lower altitude than the old Veadeiros. He imagined the new city in a higher location, which is how it was named Alto Paraíso (High Paradise).
The history of Alto Paraíso de Goiás is linked to the Fazenda Iluminada, originally called Fazenda Paraíso.
In 1981 the state government created the Paraíso Project. The objective was to transform Chapada dos Veadeiros into a tourist, fruit production and industrialization center. The project led to the opening of GO-239 Highway in 1982.
The airport and the city hall building were subsequently built.
In 1984 the farm was purchased by the second owner and it was named Fazenda Jerusalem (Jerusalem Farm). The main focus at the farm was the planting and industrialization of mangoes and their by-product.
The farm is full of incredible cerrado’s scenery, wildlife and home to a secluded waterfall.
In 2001 Fazenda Jerusalem (Jerusalem Farm) was purchased by the current owner who was looking for a land with springs, waterfall, plains for planting fruits. The property was renamed Fazenda Iluminada (Enlightened Farm).

Fazenda Iluminada is located at 3.5 miles from Alto Paraiso de Goias city, Goias state, Brazil. Great for families, friends, retreats and those interested in immersing in a healing experience in nature at the Chapada dos Veadeiros.
